overall history!:
Born into a wealthy family, Janelle Renee Riley should've been happy. But she wasn't. She knew from a very young age that money couldn't buy happiness. Living in Chicago she began to love big cities but her love for horses taught her of another lifstyle, out in the country, and she longed for that. Although she knew once she got into the country, she'd miss the big city, the lights, the cars honking, the skyscrapers sky roketing above her, trying to reach the stars. Her mother, Michelle, understood her longing for the country and promised to take her there one day. Maybe buy a small house and stay up there for a part of the summer. That never happened. Michelle abonded her and her father, Erik Riley, a year after she made that promise.
As the months passed after Michelle's disappearing act, bruises and scars appeared on Janelle's soft pale skin. Yes, Erik had began beating her. The reason? He blamed her for Michelle leaving. For a while, Janelle believed him. The abuse went on until she was 14 years old. She was up in her room trying to wrap up a burn her father had gave her. Tears streamed steadly down her face, but she didn't make a sound. The last time Erik had found her crying he called her weak, and hit her more. Janelle wasn't weak. She was stronger than ever. Running away crossed her mind and that's what she did. Quickly packing up her stuff, she climbed out of her window and ran into the tough streets of Chicago.
Cara Whitney had always wanted a daughter, and when she saw Janelle alone on the streets with a scared expression her face, she approched the girl. Quickly, Janelle moved in with Cara. Cara was pretty wealthy also, but that didn't make Janelle's decision. She could feel the woman had a nice heart, even though she was a young 27 years old. Cara bought her Queenie, a golden retrieveier, and the horse of her dreams. A stunning Friesian mare named Eclipse, who was a talented horse for show jumping and dressage. She was perfect for Janelle mainly because their personalities matched, making them a dream team. Their friendship made it possible to sail to the top, collecting blue ribbons and golf trophies along the way. Now they're moving to Kentucky, and Janelle hopes she can do just as well here as she did in Chicago.

Rain fell steadily on the pavement. Janelle Renee Riley gripped the steering wheel until her knuckles turned white. Her eyes, mostly gray now were locked on the road. She had just gotten her license not to long ago, and she wasn't planning on getting in a wrek soon after. The trailer behind her was moving, and this did not help matters. Eclipse never liked trailer rides, and the storm was only doing more damage. Sighing in concentrating, she turned the volume down on the pick-ups radio. Her mind overflowed with thoughts, both hopeful and worried. They were mostly about Eclipse. Queenie, her witty dog was breathing loudly, lying lazily on the passenger's seat, pulled Janelle back into reality. Janelle began glancing on the right-hand side of the road, looking for a sign to come up. She was certain she had taken a wrong turn. Due to the heavy rain, she was unable to see the street signs, and she was bad at directions anyway. But eventually, the sign came up. The driveway was gravel and it made a crunching sound under the pick-ups tires. Parking the truck quickly, she flipped up her hood and climbed out. Jogging to the back, she slowly let the ramp down. Eclipse was pulling on the lead line that kept her in the trailer. Easy, girl, you'll be fine. I'm here. she murmured in a soothing way. The mare flicked an ear back in Janelle's directed once she entered the trailer and reached her side. Once Eclipse was calm, Janelle led her down. The icy rain touched the mare's black coat and she was terrified all over again. Janelle stroked Eclipse and soothed her as she had done just moments before. The mare quieted. Half-smiling Janelle hugged the mare tightly as moving suddenly sunk in.
